World Authority in Marking, Identification, Traceability & Authentication
Kyle Parker is a globally recognised authority in marking, identification, and traceability, with more than 33 years of specialised experience spanning virtually every manufacturing and industrial sector. Beginning his career in 1990—when manual punching and stamping were still the norm—Kyle quickly identified the potential for technological transformation. He went on to found MARBEL (MARking and laBELling), introducing advanced marking solutions into Africa and establishing himself as an early pioneer in the industry.
Over the decades, Kyle has built strong partnerships with leading global technology manufacturers and distributors, delivering world-class traceability and identification systems. His expertise extends across complex tax stamp infrastructures, brand protection programmes, and the integration of cutting-edge technologies such as IoT, deep learning, automation, and Industry 4.0 solutions into modern industrial environments.
Today, Kyle serves as Group Director of MITAS Global—widely regarded as one of the most focused track-and-trace organisations in the world. Through MITAS Global, he brings together industry leaders, engineers, and solution providers to deliver tailored marking, identification, authentication, and traceability systems across EMEA.
Kyle’s work is driven by a deep commitment to combating counterfeiting, ensuring product authenticity, and strengthening supply chain transparency. He supports organisations across healthcare, pharmaceuticals, metals, FMCG, automotive, aerospace, textiles, government, and defence sectors—helping them achieve compliance, accountability, and secure chain-of-custody systems.
Recognised as a world authority in his field, Kyle has worked with startups, multinational corporations, governments, NGOs, NPOs, and the United Nations. His ability to objectively advise on all marking and identification methods allows him to deliver optimal solutions tailored to each application. His focus has evolved beyond simple identification to encompass broader challenges, including authentication, brand protection, anti-counterfeiting, anti-fraud, regulatory compliance, and crime prevention.
Kyle has also played a key role as a consultant in high-security industries, including arms, ammunition, and defence, and is a regular speaker at global events addressing topics such as crime prevention, arms control, and revenue protection. Notably, he has presented twice at the United Nations in New York on Small Arms and Light Weapons.
A strong contributor to global standards and industry advancement, Kyle is actively involved with GS1 organisations across multiple countries and participates in several global working groups shaping the future of traceability. His contributions include initiatives such as 2D in Retail (2DiR), Digital Product Passports (DPP), and frameworks aligned with regulations like the FDA’s DSCSA and FSMA 204. He is also engaged in sustainability and anti-illicit trade efforts through various councils and organisations.
As a member of the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) and the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), Kyle contributes to multiple technical committees focused on authenticity, fraud countermeasures, circular economy, IoT, and digital identity systems—including ISO 22382 tax stamp standards.
His leadership and innovation have earned industry recognition, including the ROCCI Business of the Year Award in 2014.
